Management
- The management includes the managing director, his deputy and the administrative manager.

Directorate
- The board of directors consists of five professors of the participating faculties, who have to be members of the FIT.

- FIT-members are allowed to carry out basic research projects in the FIT.

Scientific Advisory Board
- The Scientific Board consists of external professors accompanying the scientific work and progress of the center.

Integrative Board
- The Integrative Board is an advisory committee within the University of Freiburg to support the development of the center.

Junior Research Group Leaders / Assistant Professors
- Scientists who continue to conduct research in the post-doc phase and carry out and lead their own basic research projects at FIT as group leaders.
