High-resolution neutron imaging of salt precipitation and water transport in zero-gap CO2 electrolysis
The team of the Junior Research Group "Electrochemical Energy Systems" at the University of Freiburg, led by Dr. Severin Vierrath, was able to use high-resolution neutron microscopy to detect salt formation in electrodes of CO2 electrolysis for the first time, thus shedding light on the cause of a central problem area.
