Modern architecture teaches us that the physical workspace greatly influences the quality of communication and collaboration. Along these lines, we will establish an IDEASfactory in the stimulating atmosphere of the Freiburg Center for Interactive Materials and Bioinspired Technologies (FIT) as an important hub. The IDEASfactory@FIT will serve as both physical and institutional setting for the Research Areas A, B, C and D It will provide shared office and lab spaces, particularly designed for the livMatS Junior Research Group leaders and their teams (and for the other research groups as needed). The IDEASfactory@FIT will create an interconnected scientific environment designed to foster communication and interaction in a casual atmosphere by bringing researchers from all research areas into close contact, using “the coffee machine as a catalyst for research”. |
